Dr. Chin completed his acupuncture, herbal, and acupressure training in Taipei, Taiwan in 1987. During his pursuit of his master degree at San Francisco State University, he taught an acupressure class at the Golden Gate Park senior center teaching senior citizens acupressure. In addition he held workshops and gave weekly lectures about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for two and a half years.  

In 2003, Dr. Chin graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture earning his Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and received his accreditation to practice acupuncture within the U.S, 

After relocation to Minnesota in 2003, Dr. Chin established a private practice and worked as a teaching clinician at the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University for six and a half years. 

In 2010, Dr. Chin relocated to Beijing, China to pursuit a PhD degree at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences focus on the study of TCM internal medicine with a special interest in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and chronic kidney disease (CKD).  

Dr. Chin received his PhD degree in 2015. He has published his research in The Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Chinese) 2014 Vol.55 and The Latin American Journal of Pharmacy (English) 2015 Vol 34 respectively on diabetes related topics.

Dr. Chin holds licenses to practice acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Minnesota and California. Currently he maintains a private practice in MN.
